Genre: Romantic Comedy

Synopsis: John Paxton (Levi), a salesman in New York, is in love with his co-worker, Amanda Owens. After several futile attempts at asking her out, John accepts the fact that Amanda only sees him as a friend.
When Emma Kerney (Deschanel), a quirky small town girl from Idaho, is transferred to the New York branch, she befriends Paxton and encourages him to convince Amanda that he isn’t friend zone material.
Realizing that he knows nothing about women, he seeks out Emma for advice. Seeing just how hopeless he is, she takes pity on him. Several shopping and practice date montages later, Emma finds herself seeing him as more than just a friend.
Despite her new found feelings, she continues to help him pursue Amanda.
When John finally lands a date with Amanda, Emma receives a call from her former regional manager requesting that she come back to Idaho. Her flight coincidentally on the same day of John’s big night, Emma insists that he still go on his date.
During dinner with Amanda, he finds that his mind is always wandering to Emma. Seeing that he is distracted, Amanda tells him to go after Emma. Paxton gratefully takes the opportunity.
Running through the airport, he sees her at the waiting area. When she notices him she reprimands him for blowing the date they both worked so hard to get. They confess their feelings for each other, and the film ends with John kissing her.
